Meet our readers: Berry

            

Lacresha Berry, better known as Berry, is a singer/songwriter, actress, poet, educator, and writer from Queens by way of Lexington, Kentucky. She received her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Kentucky. She honed her playwriting skills there and has gone on to produce three one-woman shows since 2002. Her latest one-woman show, Browngirl. Bluegrass., documents her life as a brown girl coming of age in the bluegrass state of Kentucky. She's performed all over the country with the show, as well as singing and hosting with The Inspired Word weekly series.

When she's not performing, she's teaching spoken word to ninth graders in the Bronx and Global History Regents Prep to her awesome juniors and seniors in Harlem. She is currently writing her debut novel, Seeing Janelle, and her next one-woman show, Tubman. For more information, visit https://www.youtube.com/user/lacre8or.

Meet our readers: Karen Heuler

            

Karen Heuler's stories have appeared in over 100 literary and speculative magazines and anthologies, from Conjunctions to Clarkesworld to Weird Tales, as well as a number of Best Of anthologies. She has received an O. Henry award, been a finalist for the Iowa short fiction award, the Bellwether award, the Shirley Jackson award for short fiction (twice), and a bunch of other near-misses. She has published four novels and three story collections, and in July Aqueduct Press released her novella, In Search of Lost Time, about a woman who can steal time.

Q.E.D. is a short trip from Manhattan on the N train to Queens. Just stay on all the way to Astoria–Ditmars Blvd at the end of the line, and walk a couple of blocks west on 23rd Avenue. (The W train does not run on weekends.)
