Meet our readers: David Keck

David Keck is a New York based writer, teacher, and cartoonist from Winnipeg, Canada. He is the author of the Tales of Durand series, which includes In the Eye of Heaven, In a Time of Treason, and the forthcoming A King in Cobwebs.

Growing up on the prairies, he filled pads of newsprint with drawings and stories. After completing degrees in English Literature/History and Education in Winnipeg, he travelled to England's University of Sussex where he earned an MA in creative writing.

He likes nothing better than clambering around castles, cathedrals, and bits of Neolithic stonework—and has managed to drag friends and relations from the South of France all the way up to the Orkney Islands in pursuit of them.

In 2004, he moved to the United States to marry a New Yorker. For twelve years, he has been teaching middle school English Language Arts in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York.

Please join Dave and all our amazing readers for Line Break #10, Saturday, August 5, 3:00 p.m. at Q.E.D. in Astoria. Tickets are only 7 bucks!
